ADDICTION
“God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will also make the way of escape.”
Call it what it is. Not a 'habit,' not 'how I unwind', a chain. The bottle, the screen, the substance, the person you keep crawling back to. It promised relief and handed you a leash. But there's a door out, He promised one, and He doesn't lie. You don't have to white-knuckle this alone in shame. Name it. Say it to someone. Get in a room with people fighting the same war. Freedom is real, and it can start today.
Name your addiction out loud to one person you trust.
- Name it out loud to one person you trust, today.
- Find one room of people fighting the same war and show up.
- Remove one trigger from your reach right now, not tomorrow.
Maybe you have never actually come home to Him. It is simpler than religion made it. Admit you cannot fix yourself. Believe Jesus already did what you could not, took the weight and beat the grave. Then talk to Him like He is real, because He is: God, I am done running. I believe You. Take what I have got left and make me new. That is the door. If you prayed that and meant it, tell one believer today and find a church that preaches the real thing. You do not clean up first. You come as you are, mud and all.
- God, show me the door out You promised.
- Break the shame that keeps me hiding it.
- Give me one clean day, then help me do it again.
